Primary/Elementary English Teacher

Ms. Lam Montessori is hiring native English-speaking AMI-trained teachers as soon as possible for our Primary and Elementary programs. Since our classrooms are led by Mandarin-speaking teachers, we are looking for someone whose primary responsibility will be to provide a variety of rigorous and engaging English lessons for our children across a few different classrooms. You will be working with one age group only, either 3-6 to 6-12.

Requirements

• Holds an AMI 3-6 or AMI 6-12 license or in training

• Is passionate about the English Language and Culture

• Can create interesting and engaging lessons to help support the child’s interest in reading and writing

• Can create lesson plans to tailor the needs of individual child

• A team player committed to professional and personal growth

• Takes ownership of working towards children’s progress

Salary and Benefits

• Primary: $55,000-$85,000; Elementary: $60,000-$90,000, commensurate with experience

Full-Time / Part-Time Assistant Teacher-Mandarin Speaker

Job Duties

• Daily setting up and cleaning of the classroom

• Assisting the lead teacher during classroom hour, lunch, and nap

• Prepare to lead storytime, singing, or other language work once a week

• Prepare and restock teaching materials

• Take ownership of the classroom and willing to step up when needed

• Help the school become a better place to work by openly communicating with the Director, Lead Teacher, and other staff

Requirements

• The ability to communicate effectively in both Mandarin and English

• Excellent verbal communication skills

• Experience with the bopomofo/Taiwanese alphabet system a plus but not necessary

• Ability to multi-task effectively

• Enjoys working with children

• Committed and passionate about the job

• Interested in growth and development as a teacher

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary and benefits. Room and board nearby the school may be available to full-time qualified candidates. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided for all children and staff.

• $38,000-$45,000, commensurate with experience
